What is the P-Shot?

The P-Shot uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from a small sample of the patient’s own blood. After local anaesthetic, the concentrated PRP is carefully injected into selected areas of the penis.

The treatment is intended to support the body’s natural repair processes. However, individual responses vary, and it should not be presented as a guaranteed cure for ED.

What have I observed in practice?

Over the last three to four months, I have treated approximately 10 men experiencing erection concerns with the P-Shot.

Most subsequently returned or requested further treatment and reported some improvement in their symptoms. The most frequent feedback was that erections felt firmer or stronger.

I have also observed that some patients appear to experience a better response when the P-Shot is combined with low-intensity shockwave therapy.

These are encouraging clinical observations from a small group rather than the results of a controlled study. They cannot predict how every patient will respond.

Why combine the P-Shot with shockwave?

The two treatments work differently. PRP is intended to support natural tissue repair, while low-intensity shockwave therapy is used with the aim of supporting penile circulation and erectile function.

A 2025 review of seven randomised trials reported improvements in erectile-function scores following PRP and suggested potential additional benefit when PRP was combined with shockwave therapy. However, the researchers rated the evidence as low to moderate and concluded that larger studies are still required.

Combination treatment may therefore be discussed when clinically appropriate, but it will not be the right approach for every patient.
